I am personally delighted (I mean really excited) to be even a very small part of this open source project and have such great board members as well as community members. I am just completing my reading of “A Brief History of Intelligence” by Max Bennett which is the most brilliant and insightful compendium of paradigms ever brought together in a single work. Neuroscience cannot be understood without understanding its evolution. This community is the best place to be in this century, and it is a great privilege to be a small part of this great project.
That’s exactly the point I’ve been making whenever I get the chance. Sort of a ‘Hawkins Heuristic’. Brute force generative AI is fun, and even interesting, but it ain’t the path to artificial sapience.
I agree! I also read Max Bennett’s excellent book "A Brief History of Intelligence. He also published a good paper extending some of Numenta’s HTM theory about how cortical layers interact.
