We are scheduling an online Meetup on December 4th at 9AM PST, where Jeff, Viviane, Niels, and I will present about the Thousand Brains Project! There will be a lot of exciting content.
The tentative agenda is as follows:
Jeff will outline how the principles of the neocortex, as described in the Thousand Brains Theory, will shape the AI of the future and how we are implementing an open-source framework based on those principles.
Then Viviane Clay, the director of the Thousand Brains Project, and Niels Leadholm, our Research Manager, will present the implementation, which we have lovingly called Monty after Vernon Mountcastle, who initially proposed that there is a general algorithm encoded in the columns of the neocortex.
Then, I will go over the open-source resources available to you and ways to get involved.
We hope you can come. We’re excited to share our internal journey so far and what we think the next part of our journey will look like. We’ll also have a Q&A session where you can ask questions through the meetup website, so feel free to prepare questions in advance.
Great presentation! Informative and accessible - thank you to all involved!
I understand you’ll perhaps create a video to address the many attendee questions you couldnt get to. Can those questions be summarisized and answered on this forum too?
For me and my time zone it was a slightly awkward time of day to view more than the beginning of the live meeting, which looked good and familiar due to me having read some introductory material, I’m sure the rest of the meeting will help progress my understanding. Thanks all.
