Relevant neuroscience research materials

Hi everyone!

I recently read The thousand brains: a new theory of intelligence, and found this project. I’ve watched many of the youtube videos, but as my background is purely in computer science, I feel like I’m missing too much of the neuroscience stuff to really get a deep understanding of the motives behind some of the architectural decisions. One could say I’m missing the reference frame of neuroscience

I was wondering if someone had recommendations for materials that would prove most valuable for understanding the nuts and bolts of neocortex from the perspective of most benefit for understanding TBT deeply? Some kind of curated reading list would probably be useful, not many have a background in both large scale software systems engineering and neuroscience

Hi @crowogenesis that’s a great question! I’m happy to hear that you are interested in diving deeper into the neuroscience. I tried to curate a list of papers for exactly this purpose here: Further Reading

I picked papers that we frequently return to in research meetings, that are comprehensive reviews of a field, and/or that contain evidence for key ideas in our theory. There are definitely tons more papers but I think the papers on this list could be a good starting point. Let me know if you come across any other papers that were useful for someone new to the field.
