@vclay shares a review of the Thousand Brains Project’s progress in Q1 2026 and what’s coming next.
The Q1 review covers key updates like welcoming a new Staff Software Engineer, hiring an awesome video editor, improving the video editing process, and publishing videos. The team also merged 197 PRs into tbp.monty and made strong progress on the platform roadmap. On the research side, there were advances in configuration improvements, separating motor policy and environment interface, policy switching, and a working MuJoCo prototype. The team also integrated burst sampling, completed the 2D SM research prototype, and improved compositional modeling. Other highlights include the ultrasound repository, updates to the heterarchy paper, growing community engagement, and the London retreat.
Looking ahead, Viviane shares the priorities for Q2 2026 and reviews the direction for the rest of the year.
